Let's Make Malas, Workshop & Field Trip

On the full moon day of August, Saturday, Aug 16, 2008 8:45 AM -5 PM:

Join Kundalini yoga instructor, Padmani Kaur (Christine Cappabianca) and Virginia Dugan, for this delightful experience. The day will include meditation, yoga and gemstone beadwork as we make our own malas, or prayer beads.

We will start the day with a carpooling field trip to the stone show in Lebanon, where each participant will select & purchase the stones and other materials needed for mala-making. We will then return to Radiance in downtown Lancaster, for the rest of the day, which will include a light vegetarian lunch, teachings on the history of malas, beads of significance and healing properties as taught by Yogi Bhajan. We will have a yoga class to prepare us spiritually for the stringing & knotting of the beads and a blessing ceremony at the end of the day.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels of yoga and meditation experience.

Cost is $60 including lunch. Please bring a blanket or yoga mat and a journal. You will need to bring some sort of container with a lipped tray/lid to work and hold the project during and after the workshop. Contact Radiance for more information or call 717-290-1517 to reserve your spot.

Old is New, artwork from Jennifer Strasenburgh

For those of you who have been to Radiance, you have already seen some of Jenn's work. She painted the flowering vines that lead you upstairs, as well as the sun and triple moon murals in our classroom.

This is a wonderful collection of abstracts, with a zen- like peace. Join us on First Friday for the artist reception, or stop in anytime to enjoy this wonderful show. Jenn's works will be hanging at Radiance through the month of August.

Artist reception, Friday August 1 from 6-8, during downtown Lancaster's First Friday events.

A little more about Jenn ..

A Lancaster native, Jennifer's work appears in galleries throughout the United States as well as numerous International venues. Her mixed media paintings and fine art prints contain vibrant reds and blues along with warm earthy tones. These newest abstract paintings are part of an upcoming series entitle "Communities".
