On March 15th Rally for Peace to Mark 5th Anniversary of the War
Sponsored by the Lancaster Coalition for Peace and Justice (http://www.lancasterVOICE.org)Lancaster County citizens, veterans, religious groups, scholars, civil rights advocates, and civic organizations will gather for a potentially record breaking peace rally on the Fifth Anniversary of the start of the Iraq War at Binns Park and then march to Southern Market.
The Lancaster Coalition for Peace and Justice (LCPJ) will stress throughout the day that Lancaster residents need to hold our elected officials accountable in order to curtail massive budget cuts in social spending needed to pay for the military to return WW2 levels. In addition, officials must also be diligent in defending our civil liberties, the welfare of veterans and other US citizens, and the well-being of Iraqi and Afghan civilians.
Participants and feeder marches will converge on Binns Park at 12 noon. Speakers will include active-duty soldier and York native Bill Kohler, Pam Adams, step-mother of Lancaster born Brent Adams, a soldier killed in action in Iraq, Titus Peachey of the Mennonite Central Committee, and lastly John Schreck of the LCPJ will close the rally at Binns Park.
Ushers will then lead a march through the streets of Lancaster arriving at Southern Market by 2 PM. At this time, LCPJ will feature a live feed from the Winter Soldier program of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) (http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier). At approximately 3 PM, Andy Hoover of ACLU PA will speak. Following Hoover will be the keynote speaker, Ms. Jana El Horr, a 2005 Fulbright Scholar of Iraqi-Lebanese descent and doctoral candidate at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. The day will end with a candlelight vigil on the old Courthouse steps at 7 PM commemorating all the lives lost on both sides since the beginning of post-9/11 military conflicts.

Now is the Time... Be Present. A workshop with Siri Neel
Come in Truth, Come in Love, Come in Joy
Come in Doubt, Come in Fear, Come in Anger
Let our tears wash away the veil that prevents us from knowing who we are.
Be present with us.
Using the teachings of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan,
Let us be real with ourselves and each other that we might experience
the power of our humanness
the sacredness of our honesty
the joy of being in suniya (stillness)
Change is within us – we need nothing, no one.
Let us sit together and be one in that knowing, acknowledging ourself and each other.
Siri Neel Kaur Khalsa will lead us on this joyful journey, which will include a Kundalini Yoga class at noon, lecture/discussion, recipes, meditation and a vegetarian & mostly gluten-free lunch!

It's a Sheet of Ice Out There!
It's looking less and less likely that we'll be opening the shop today at all.
It's supposed to warm up (well, to above freezing) later, so I'm expecting that we'll be there tomorrow without any trouble.
Outside my windows it's just ice & sleet. It looks almost pretty from in here, but I have no desire to be out in the mess. See you tomorrow!

Snow & Ice on the Way!
Well, it looks like we're going to get a winter storm starting this afternoon & into tonight! It's about time. This has been an almost snowless winter so far for us.
Anyway, there won't be a Tai Chi class tomorrow morning at noon. If you were planning to come, wait until Saturday at 2pm, or next Wednesday at noon.
The Deep Journaling class which was scheduled for 10am tomorrow has been postponed a week, and will be held at 10am next Wednesday, February 20 instead.
