Radiance is very happy to show this wonderful new collection of Mary Schroeder's art. The multi-media expression fuses watercolors and fabric to create a forest of imagery that delights the soul. We are also enjoying yoga classes among these spirit-filled trees!
This exhibit will be in the gallery through the end of May, 2008. We will have an artist reception (including live music from Ben Weiss & Joel Fath) in concert with the First Friday activities in downtown Lancaster. The reception will be from 5-8 pm on Friday, May 2.
Mary will also be here during Artwalk weekend, which is April 19 & 20, and in addition to the framed pieces in the show, she will be offering t-shirts with her trees appliqued on them!
Radiance has carried notecards made from Mary's watercolors, and always has a selection of those in the shop.
One Wednesday morning a month, treat yourself to this series of workshops in creative journaling with Jill Althouse-Wood. May class will be “Potpourri”, on the 14th. June 11 theme is “Creative Intention” July 16 will be “Healing” August 13 theme is “Ourselves – Community” Come to one or come to all. Each workshop will be different.

Jill Althouse-Wood is a writer and artist whose first novel Summers at Blue Lake reached bookshelves in August of this year. She holds a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Delaware. Before quitting her job to write and paint full-time, Jill worked for fifteen years as a fabric designer. She began writing as a way to express herself creatively in balance with her day job and raising a family. These days Jill writes in the morning and paints in the afternoon. You might have seen some of her art on exhibit at the Red Raven Gallery in downtown Lancaster during the month of February. Jill combines her love of the visual and the verbal in workshops she facilitates on creative journaling. Jill lives in Reinholds, PA, with her husband, two children, and a black pug dog who rests at her feet while she writes.
